Many of these tips could be accomplished over a weekend!  Just a quick trip to a local nursery can provide you with ideas to execute at your own home!  I visit Pendleton's Country Market several times a year to purchase my own flowers and they are always so helpful and full of valuable knowledge!   Here is their website .  They always have a popular stand at the Lawrence Farmer's Market, too!   No only do they have annual and perennial flowers, but you can pick your own seasonal fruits and vegetables.  My goal this year is to pick my own asparagus!
