Reality Real Estate?
How many of us watch reality TV home shows? House Hunters, Extreme Home Makeover, Million Dollar Listing and/or many others are on the air 24/7.
Do you ever find yourself wondering if the situations and transactions are real? I remember when a friend heard that House Hunters was almost all a set-up. Total devastation!

But the reality of reality home shows is that much of what you see isn't true to life.
Buying and selling a home takes time and patience. Shows make the process look like it happens quickly and seamlessly. In truth, a transaction can take time and sometimes there can be hiccups. It's important to have an agent that you feel can work thru obstacles and help you with the specifics of your market.
I am a fan of Million Dollar Listing L.A.
Last November, I was in San Francisco for the NAR Conference and while walking down the street one day, I saw a guy walk past me and I thought "I think that's Josh Altman from my show!". The very next day, I got to meet him at the Trulia Tent and talk with him for awhile! Dream come true!!

It is fun to watch these shows and get ideas on how to buy or sell your home. Some of my clients watched every episode of House Hunters before we started looking for a home for them to purchase. They felt it gave them insight on what they might want from a house as far as floorplan and amenities. They also liked watching to see homes that were outside their price range just to see how other people live! :)
That's one reason shows like Million Dollar Listing do so well. Not many of us ever get to see a home like this in person:
